About our property

This wonderful C18 stone cottage has a fully working Inglenook fireplace for those cosy nights in if it gets chilly, or romantic nights in even if it isn’t chilly! The cottage has been described as a “chocolate box cottage” rustic cottage with roses around the doorway and a cottage garden both at the front and the rear.

The Loves' aim is for you to have a wonderful holiday, and we endeavour to ensure that your time spent at Loves' Cottage is 100% comfortable.

The quaint village of Evercreech, Somerset is close to the Dorset and Wiltshire borders. This superbly refurbished C18th stone-built cottage is situated in the heart of the small vibrant village, close to the Mendip Hills and Glastonbury, easily accessible to the larger towns of Bath and Bristol.

The restoration process took three, part-time, laborious years to complete. It was once a workers' cottage and used to have a bank on one side and a police-station on the other. Restoration has been a labour of "Love!"

Our self-catering country cottage offers sleeping accommodation for 4 persons: one large double and one large twin-bedded room.

For occasional overnight use, or to accommodate a child over 6 years old or the elderly, there is also a double futon downstairs.

Facilities

Our cottage is in fact our second home; therefore, it has all the comforts and "feel" of a home from home. The property is very "English", a country cottage and the inglenook fireplace is a special feature. Walking up the original pathway, you will find English roses at the doorway to the cottage.

Whilst it is over 350 years old, we have ensured through renovations that we have up to date facilities. Instant hot water and "google nest" supported heating, excellent Wi-Fi, Nespresso coffee machine, and excellent white goods are available in the in the kitchen, whilst the property also retains the feature of the real log fire and a Victorian fire (now gas) in the dining room.

The main bedroom is particularly cosy, with two relaxing armchairs by the ceiling-to-floor windows (low beamed ceiling) where you can relax, have a glass of wine, watch TV, or watch the day draw to a close.

The twin-bedded room is of a good size and you can enjoy the rear garden and listen to the birds. The bathroom is downstairs through the kitchen; however, it has a wonderful walk-in double shower and a double ended bath.

The rear garden is a delight - small table and chairs for eating (Barbie available) and two relaxing chairs housed in the shed.

Local attractions

Evercreech village is a hive of activity. The Village Hall is close by and promotes table-top sales, exhibitions, and much more. The local shop is 'open all hours' from early morning until 10pm each day, and it is not unusual to see farmyard tractors and horses trundling by the front door.

About us

Hello! We are Gill and Tony Love and we hope that you will enjoy our self catering cottage  as much as we do. My husband and I have always enjoyed travelling. We are very people oriented and enjoy sharing our home with others.

Music has become our number one hobby these days. We have our own band (The Gill Love Band), offering an eclectic mix of songs to support charity fund raising. Gill sings and Tony plays guitar, harmonica and also sings! we have drums, sax player, bass and lead guitar and a keyboard master!. There are 7 of us in total and we love playing at large charity events. It is great fun and hopefully our performance increases the funding for the charities. We are always happy to answer to "G" and "T".

We are looking forward to welcoming you to our lovely country cottage, and please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us should you have any questions.
